Quarantine Services at Bar-King Dog Kennel

Big Island pets and their families can chose to complete their quarantine stay at our facility instead of the State Animal Quarantine Station on Oahu. Although the length of your pet's stay and the rules of confinement are determined by the State Department of Agriculture, as a private facility we are able to offer your pets a few more amenities than are found at the state facility.

You will need to contact the Animal Quarantine Station for the specific entry requirements. You can also contact our boarding and dog grooming office for more information regarding cost and the procedures for having your pet transferred to our facility. While everything is provided for your pet's need, you are welcome to bring in any toys, treats, or bedding that you think would make your pet feel more at home.

Dog Quarantine
Our dog runs are large (6' x 10' inside and 4' x 6' outside) and provide space for your dog's bed, toys, and a chair for you to visit. There is also a play yard with a waiting pool for your dog's enjoyment. The separate compound of only 5 kennels allows your dog to have the enjoyment of seeing and hearing a few other dogs near by without being overwhelmed with the constant noise and activity of a large quarantine station.

Cat Quarantine
Our cat enclosures are large and airy (5' x 8' wide and 8' high) and allow enough room for you to sit comfortably during your visit with your cat. With perches, hide-a-ways, and a view of the outside, your cat will soon adapt to his or her new surroundings.

Hours
Our quarantine visiting hours are liberal. You may visit at any time and stay for as long as you wish during the posted visiting hours. Our visiting hours are:
Monday–Friday: 10 a.m.–5 p.m., Saturday–Sunday: 10 a.m.–1 p.m.
